Deceit

I was beginning to think that my U.S. History "Honors" class were as talentless and boring as steamed celery. Alas I was wrong! I have not been challenging them enough. Today it was sort of a choose your own adventure day, so they chose to play a game. And now I know their strength and it is dishonesty! A great beast has made it's nest in their hearts and from that place has crawled the child of deception. They have built a Parthenon of "creative" accumulation of facts, and each grooved column is but an illusion. They are dark hearted knowledge pirates and the way they cheated left me amazed, impressed and fearful for our future. Unless of course our future lies somewhere in super villainy, in which case we'll be fine. Every time I asked a question they had an answer. No matter how many times I piled their electronics out of their reach, they always had a backup. It was as if they could produce iPads almost organically. Perhaps this is evolution. The children are now more artificial than intelligent and I remain impressed at their deceptions and the intellect it takes for them to remain ignorant. This is why I don't know if I'm qualified to be teaching a cybersecurity class.

Speaking of cybersecurity, my law class today learned about the Lockerbie Scotland Air disaster, and I believe they were only interested in the parts that referenced physics. The Bernoulli principle is a valid thing to know when studying why airplanes fall out of the sky.

AICE Global Perspectives Model UN spent most of the day surprised I had enough money to buy ramen, let alone live in a house. The rest of the class spent the day on a non-stop pilgrimage to the restroom, and the time left over after that, they spent brushing their eyelashes. A more productive day than usual.

Below is an artistic rendition of what teaching is beginning to feel like. Except I would never wear a turtle neck. Or smile.
