If plain unsalted crackers were a class they would be period 5. I wish I had more to say, but they just sit and efficiently do work and no one really complains. I feel I'm not being challenged. If anyone is ever going to make a movie about my life, there will be no mention of period five and the struggles we overcame. I can't imagine them struggling to survive violent neighborhoods and obstinate families to finally excel on the EOC and then go on to win the U.S. History world championship. No, they will quietly study in Panera and it will be the most exciting thing they will experience since their last birthday at Chuck E Cheese.

I suspected most of period six of cheating, but we ran some double blind (not really) tests and determined that using Control F can possibly trigger a warning on Canvas that someone looked away from a test. So that means at least two people apparently used Control F around 69 times to look up 31 vocabulary words. Nothing to be proud of, but nothing nefarious. Probably.

Period 7 broke my heart today. That's all. I'm not calling them or texting.

Period 8 I've written little about. They are study hall, and the most I know about them is that they are surprisingly polite, and not at all as hyper as I would expect a demographic with a diet of 100 percent gummy worms to be. One quarter of the class waits the required 15 minutes before I send them with a pass across the school to room 427. They claim to be studying. I'm not going to pretend I don't know which room the black market ramen can be found in. However today like fish poking their heads from the ooze and mud, they looked up and discovered the blog, as all study halls eventually do. They are evolving. As most people know I try to avoid sophomores. I've seen them do things like eat the cotton off of Q-tips and one class even spent an entire 90 minutes speaking in fake British accents. This class however is different. I enjoyed one conversation where two kids just practiced insulting each other. This is the type of behavior I should encourage more of. I know they all have plenty of material to work with.
